Ex Arsenal player, Nicklas Bendtner was suspended to train with the first team by Wolfsburg in March and now get his contract finally terminated, less than two years after signing a three-year deal at the German club.
The player that often being bullied by the net user as ‘Lord Bendtner’ has not played for the club or country since February 6 and was totally banned from training in March due to strings of disciplinary problems such as overslept and being late.
The sporting director of Wolfsburg, Klaus Allofs has branded Bendtner as a ‘threat’ to the club therefore he has now seen his contract being terminated after just joining the club two years ago in a free transfer.
The statement stated: “Striker Nicklas Bendtner is no longer a VfL Wolfsburg player. The contract with the 28-year-old Dane which had been valid until June 2017, has been terminated with immediate effect.
“Bentner had not trained with the team for quite some time and was recently exempted from participation.”
The move to the Bundesliga was due to his runs of bad time in Arsenal, even though, the Denmark’s player had different opinion about himself and think that he had a good ability and worth to be playing for the Premier League giants, in total he had scored 32 goals in 136 games for the Gunners.
Bendtner was reported late for 50 minutes earlier this season and aside from that, he was also fined by the club for his audacious or rather stupid acts on social media as he posted a photo on instagram of himself driving a Mercedes car, rival car manufactures to the club owner Volkswagen.
The ‘Lord’ who had not scored a single goal since the last October is now a free agent, and he will surely believe that there are still some teams that will want to had his service.
“Both Nicklas and ourselves had high hopes of his engagement at VfL Wolfsburg, but after two years, we have had to ascertain that the expectations were neither fulfilled for him nor for us and a continued cooperation made no sense for either side,” said the club’s sporting director.
“For that reason, the mutual decision to end our association prematurely is thus the best solution for all parties. We wish Nicklas all the very best for his future career.” continued the German.
