Manchester City are keen to sign AS Monaco left-wing side Benjamin Mendy this summer. Mendy has been in superb form for Ligue 1 campaign and it is reported that City head coach Pep Guardiola thinks that Mendy will be an absolute for the club next season.
Mendy has been making 28 appearances in all competitions for Monaco since a 13 million pounds move from Marseille last year and successful to reach Champions League quarter-finalists this season.
He also gained his first cap for France in the 2018 World Cup qualifying win against Luxembourg in March, getting an assist in a 3-1 victory.
Pep Guardiola expects to lose his two right backs Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna at the en of the season. In search of two new right backs for the next season, Pep Guardiola would have made Mendy as his priority to replace the left side of his defense.
According to the report, Monaco should quickly get a check for 35 million euros from the Citizens. At this rate, there is a good chance of seeing the 22-year-old rally England in the end of season.
