Elkan Baggott is believed to be one of the top players in the future. This opinion was conveyed directly by Blackpool FC coach, Neil Crichley after seeing Elkan’s debut performance with his team.
Elkan Baggott made his debut with The Seasiders -Blackpool FC’s nickname- in the first round of the 2024-2025 English League Cup. Elkan was trusted to guard Blackpool’s defense before being replaced in the 65th minute.
Blackpool also managed to win over Burton Albion with a landslide score of 4-0, Wednesday (13/8/2024). This sweet result made The Seasiders advance to the second round of the 2024-2025 English League Cup.
After the match, Critchley said he was very happy with Elkan’s debut performance. According to him, the 21-year-old player was very solid in controlling the ball. Critchley also thanked Ipswich Town for loaning Elkan.
“He’s a very outstanding player, and he’s very good on the ball. We’re delighted to have him here, and Ipswich have entrusted us to develop him,” said Critchley as reported by the Blackpool Gazette.
Furthermore, Critchley stated that he was ready to oversee the development of Elkan Baggott. The 45-year-old coach believes Elkan will become one of the top players in the future.
“I can’t wait to see how he plays, and help develop what could be a very good player in the future,” he said.
Meanwhile, Blackpool’s victory will face Blackburn Rovers in the second round of the 2024-2025 English League Cup. The match will take place at Ewoord Park, Blackburn, England on August 27, 2024.
