Brazilian national team midfielder, Philipe Coutinho mention Costa Rica national team difficult to beat for defending very well throughout the game.
Brazil managed to beat Costa Rica with a score of 2-0 in the advanced match of the group stage E World Cup 2018 at the Stadium Saint-Petersburg, Friday (22/06/2018).
The dominant Brazilian can only score in injury time through Philippe Coutinho (90+1) and Neymar, six minutes later.
This is Coutinho’s second goal in the 2018 World Cup. After the match, Coutinho praised Costa Rica’s very solid defense.
“Costa Rica are strong in defense and solid in midfield, Brazil did not give up until the last minute,” Coutinho said as quoted from FIFA.com.
“This match is very difficult, just as we have anticipated, but we always try to win from the first minute,” Coutinho said.
In addition, Coutinho is also grateful his team is not frustrated and keep trying to get the first win in this World Cup 2018.
“This is something always highlighted by coaches, mentally, we are very strong until the end of the game,” said Coutinho.
“We have shown a lot of patience until the end of the game and our two winning goals are our prize,” said the Barcelona player.
This victory makes Brazil managed to collect four points of results from two games after only a 1-1 draw in Switzerland in the first game.
Brazil’s chances of qualifying for the Round of 16 will be determined on the final Group E matchday against Serbia at the Spartak Stadium (Otkrytiye Arena), Moscow, on Wednesday (27/06/2018) or early Thursday
Meanwhile, Costa Rica certainly eliminated because it always lost in two matches in Group E.
