Brentford vs Liverpool: Harvey Elliott asks the Reds to show quality

Liverpool will face Brentford in the 25th match of the 2023-2024 Premier League. The match will take place at the Gtech Community Stadium, Saturday (17/2/2024).

Ahead of the match, Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott asked his colleagues to show quality at the opponent’s headquarters. Moreover, The Bees – Brentford’s nickname – beat The Reds – Liverpool’s nickname – last season when playing at home.

Victory in the next match will keep Liverpool away from the pursuit of Manchester City and Arsenal. Because, the Reds are leading the standings with 54 points and are two points ahead of Manchester City and Arsenal.

Ahead of the match, Harvey Elliott admits that facing Brentford will not be an easy match for Liverpool. Moreover, The Bees have talented players and support from fans at home will make Brentford more motivated.

“This will be a very difficult match. Brentford have great talent and plan to play well, especially at home and get the support of the fans,” said Harvey Elliott, quoted from Liverpool’s official website, Friday (16/2/2024).

Even though Liverpool is at the top of the standings, the 20 year old player thinks there is no easy match for his team to play. Harvey Elliott asked his colleagues to bring out the best quality, because they don’t want to get negative results like last season again.

“It won’t be easy, no match is easy. We have to bring out more quality, especially what happened last season there, we have to fix it this season and hopefully we can make our fans go home happy,” he said.

Last season, Liverpool suffered a crushing 1-3 defeat to Brentford on (3/1/2023). Ibrahim Konate’s own goals (19′), Yoane Wissa (42′), and Bryan Mbeumo (84′) successfully found the back of Alisson Becker’s goal.

While visiting Brentford, Liverpool is likely to field Conor Bradley in the right-back position. Because, Trent Alexander-Arnold was injured when the Reds won 3-1 over Burnley.
