Called by Australian Media as a Mediocre Coach, Kluivert is Not Afraid to Aim for Victory Against Australia

Indonesian National Team Coach Patrick Kluivert with confident to say that the Garuda Squad’s presence in Sydney was to seize victory over the host Australia in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

The Indonesian National Team is currently in third place in Group C of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. If they want to increase their chances of qualifying directly for the 2026 World Cup, victory against Australia is a must.

Kluivert himself did not hesitate to state that victory is what he will aim for in the match against Australia. The Australia vs Indonesia duel will take place on Thursday (20/3/2025).

“We came here to get a good result, and a good result means victory.”

“Of course, this will be a very difficult match, but I am sure we can achieve a positive result,” said Kluivert with high optimism.

Previously, Australian media called Indonesian national team coach Patrick Kluivert a mediocre coach, as did Australian coach Tony Popovic.

The Australia vs Indonesia duel is also a proving ground for Popovic and Kluivert. Australian media, The Roar, said that both coaches are equally mediocre coaches.

“When you see two coaches with bad and unconvincing histories facing each other, the question is: What are you going to watch?” wrote The Roar.

The Roar even said that Australian and Indonesian supporters are faced with the same situation, namely concerns about the coach’s ability.

The Indonesian national team has gathered in Sydney and has undergone its first training on Tuesday (18/3/2025). The Indonesian national team will return to training on Wednesday (19/3/2025) before competing the next day.

Australia is currently in second place in Group C with a collection of seven points. The Socceroos are only one point ahead of Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and China.

This condition makes the Australia vs Indonesia match crucial for both teams. Australia will drop in ranking if it falls before Indonesia.
