Canceled to Madrid, Mbappe officially stays at PSG until 2025

Canceled to Madrid, Mbappe officially stays at PSG until 2025

Kylian Mbappe officially signed a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) until 2025. This confirmation was conveyed by the French club ahead of the FC Metz match on Saturday (21/5).

The French champions are in danger of losing the 23-year-old to Real Madrid for free this summer when Mbappe’s contract runs out.

However, a new contract offer from PSG made Mbappe decide to stay with Les Parisiens.

PSG managed to convince the striker to commit to a new deal that was announced on Saturday night.

PSG president Al Khelaifi said he was delighted to be able to share the good news with the club’s supporters.

“I am proud to give you good news Kylian Mbappe has signed a contract until June 2025 with Paris Saint-Germain,” said Al Khelaifi as he posed with the player holding a jersey bearing the number 2025 before kick-off for the PSG vs Metz match.

In addition, according to a report by Marca, Mbappe will get a vote in the selection of the coach and also the club’s sporting director if he signs a new contract.

Not only that, he also has the right to vote to assess who PSG needs to recruit in order to strengthen the squad to be the best in Europe. The impossible is given by Real Madrid.

Mbappe himself is a player born in Paris. Therefore, the factor of proximity to family is also considered to be a determinant in making that decision. This decision made Real Madrid indirectly disappointed by Mbappe again.

“I would like to announce that I have chosen to extend my contract at Paris Saint-Germain, and of course I am delighted. I am sure that here I can continue to develop at a club that provides everything necessary to perform at the highest level. I am also delighted to be able to continue to play in France, the country where I was born, where I grew up and where I made my name,” Mbappe said, quoted from PSG’s official website.

“I would like to thank the President, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, for his trust, for his understanding and for his patience. I would also like to thank all Paris Saint-Germain fans, both in France and around the world, for their support, especially in the the last few months. Together, side by side and full of ambition, we will work miracles in Paris,” Mbappe added.

Until finally PSG managed to convince the striker to commit to a new deal that was announced on Saturday night. PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi immediately announced that Mbappe was staying at Les Parisiens before the kick-off of the PSG vs Metz match.

“Kylian’s commitment to PSG is a great milestone in the history of our club, and a beautiful moment for our fans around the world. Since the day Kylian joined our family, he has achieved prowess beyond his years at every stage. In committing to PSG, he will be the foundation of the future of our Club both on and off the pitch,” said Al Khelaifi.

“I am very proud and very happy for Kylian, for our fans and our entire PSG family around the world that we will continue our beautiful journey together. For our fans and our club, the biggest chapter of our future awaits ahead.” said Al Khelaifi added.
