Canelo Alvarez reveals the only reason that Floyd Weather defeated him

Canelo “Saul” Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 Kos) revealed the amazing fight history he had with former American boxer Floyd Weather after beating him in September 2013 at the MGM Arena, Las Vegas. The fight between both boxers was won by Maywether in a 12 rounds majority decision.

“I think the only reason he beat me was experience. He had delivered more championship fights. I will not make it happen again.” Alvarez said.

“I definitely learned a lot. I now have more experience. I changed, I’m a much more compelete boxer now.” he added.

However, the Mexican boxer claimed he has fearless to face Gennady “GGG” Golovkin on September 16, in Las Vegas. He believes he will make a great fight at the end of the year.

“You can expect this fight to be one of the best duels in history,” Alvarez said. “It all depends on the pace of the fight. I will definitely do my part.”

“We both have attractive styles. We both have  the punching power to win the fight by knockout. And that’s what will make it a great fight.”

“There have been several historic fights involving Mexican boxers. The ingredients are there for it to be a great fight.” he added.

While Alvarez has evolved as a boxer, he also believes that Golovkin has developed from the moment they boxed in sparring training camp.

“We are different fighters now,” Alvarez said. “Yes, there are some things I’ve noticed, but I’m not basing myself on that to get an idea of him.”

“I was able to take into consideration some things, but you really cannot compare a sparring session and a real fight.” Alvarez added.

According to Alvarez, this event will propel boxing to his pinnacle. He claimed he has gained a lot experience before in all competitions.

“I’ve always imagined myself to be one of the best fighters to be in big fights,” Alavarez said. “I have had gained a lot of experience because I have already fought hard.”

“I had never imagined the magnitude that it is going to have and it is something I have always wanted. However, it’s going to be really tough, it’s going to be a very tough fight but I’ll give my best.” he added.
