Singapore is a small country compared to other. Many people of Singapore are addicted going to casino for gambling in hope of winning. The government taxes more for casino because gambling is not good thing. The reason for more taxing in casino by the government is to minimize people going to the casino. One must have much more money to gamble in the casino because it is expensive. Here is the story of people in Singapore waste their valuable time and money in casino in expectation of winning more money. The desire for winning is high but the result are miserable. Two billion dollars were only spent make two casinos instead of other development activities and they are staying until change of new government policy.
Problem of Gamblers
There are many things in which people are addicted to. Gambling is also one of the addiction. They have habit of lying and hiding their addiction from family, friends etc. Gamblers are always chasing losses saying that they want to recover the money they have lost but they end up losing again in expectation of winning. They usually borrow money from others for gambling and also betting more is one of the sign of addictive gambler.
Gamblers Gets Troubled
Some of the story are pass out by several taxi drivers in the Singapore sharing the experiences of gamblers who take their ride. A guy lost 2000$ dollar in the casino. He used the money which was for his mother’s medication purpose. While conversation of gambling inside the taxi they see the group of gamblers outside the casino with Quite and depressed faces who probably lost there. An old woman of sixty takes his taxi after the guy and shares her experiences with the driver. The old woman says” I must stop but I couldn’t”. She is already addicted to gambling. That day she lost about 1500 $ dollar in the casino cursing her luck. The driver encourages the old woman to stop gambling as soon as possible. Gambling is a direct gateway to an ultimate end.
Hands of Government
Our government is nothing but a running corporation. Though the government has applied high amount of taxes for the casino they create a room for gamblers to continue their addictions. They know that people get addicted to it so they thought by increasing tax will decrease it. Unfortunately it won’t stop. They only again multiply permanently that casino will bring tourism, job vacancies. They are only the means that kicks the gambler that is citizens to an ultimate end. This is not good result. So, the government should stop this thing as soon as possible to make the world a better place.
