Edinson Cavani has received a new contract from Manchester United which will keep him at Old Trafford until June 30, 2021. The new contract indicates that Man United are satisfied with Cavani’s performance in the 2020-2021 season.
The Red Devils-nicknamed Man United- brought Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for free in the summer of 2020. Some parties doubted Cavani to play in the Premier League because he was 34 years old.
Cavani did not immediately look good with Man United this season. The performance of El Matador – Cavani’s nickname – fluctuates due to fitness problems and Covid-19.
However, Cavani was able to repay Man United’s trust in the last few games. Cavani has scored eight goals in his last seven appearances for Man United across competitions this season.
Overall, Cavani has scored 15 goals and five assists for Man United this season. This slick performance made Man United want to extend Cavani’s contract which will expire on June 30, 2021.
