Como 1907 have confirmed the signing of AS Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who has agreed a contract with the Italian side until June 2024 on a free transfer.
Fabregas reached the Sinigaglia stadium, where the crowd was anxiously waiting for him to take pictures and make autographs.
“Thanks to the club for believing in me and my family who have always followed me in my career. I arrive with the same ambition that has always distinguished me, I’m here to play, do well and win games.” Fabregas said.
“When I no longer have these motivations, I will retire, but this is not the right moment since I still have a lot to give in football. I am very ambitious and I would like to bring back to a club where it deserves to be: in Serie A.” Fabregas added.
Fabregas arrived in Italy after 19 seasons at the highest level, in which he won the Premier League on two season and a Spanish League, in addition to two European Championships and a World Cup for Spain.
“There were many reasons that prompted me to come to Como. When my agent told me about this club, I had the opportunity to speak with the management and opened up to this opportunity.” Fabregas said.
“Since my contract expired, the first time this has happened in my life, I have also have 2000 calls from people who were not part of the world of football but were just trying to make money. I was a little disappointed with that, I was a little sad to discover this side of football.” he added.
Fabregas was presented to the media as a Como player on Monday and said he was looking forward to getting started in a league he believes to be a strong one.
