Champions League Results: Epic Comeback, Rossoneri Wins 2-1!

The results of AC Milan vs PSG in the 2023-2023 Champions League are already known. The Rossoneri – AC Milan’s nickname – successfully won with a narrow score of 2-1!

The AC Milan vs PSG match was held at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, Milan, Tuesday (7/11/2023). AC Milan fell behind in this match because Milan Skriniar conceded a goal in the 9th minute.

However, AC Milan made an epic comeback afterwards. First, Rafael Leao responded to bring AC Milan to a 1-1 draw. Then, Olivier Giroud ensured AC Milan’s victory after scoring a goal in the second half.

A fierce duel immediately filled the match from the early minutes. Both teams immediately intensively launched attacks alternately. As a result, a series of golden opportunities immediately came to Milan and PSG.

However, PSG was able to take advantage of this golden opportunity first. In the 9th minute, Skriniar managed to break through the hosts’ goal after making good use of a pass from Marquinhos. The score changed to 1-0.

However, PSG’s advantage did not last long. Milan immediately built a fast attack which resulted in a goal just 3 minutes later. Milan’s goal was scored by Rafael Leao. The score was tied at 1-1.

After that, both teams continued to appear determined to chase additional goals. However, until the end of the first half, no more goals were scored.

Milan started the second half very well. Even though they were under pressure from PSG like in the first half, they were able to handle it well.

In fact, Milan managed to break into PSG’s goal again in the 50th minute. It is Olivier Giroud who listed his name on the scoreboard this time. Receiving a pass from Theo Hernandez, Giroud quickly grabbed the ball with a header and scored a goal. Milan takes a 2-1 lead!

Milan appeared even more fierce after that. In the 63rd minute, Theo Hernandez almost increased Milan’s lead if his free kick from outside the penalty box was not blocked by Donnarumma.

In the remaining time of the match, both teams continued to try to score additional goals. However, PSG and Milan’s efforts could not produce sweet results. The 2-1 score for AC Milan’s victory lasted until the end of the match.

After the match, Enrique admitted that his team had difficulty scoring again after taking the lead. The Spanish coach said that AC Milan managed to control the game and showed strong resistance.

“It was a tight game, it could have gone either way. We scored first but after that we couldn’t control the game. It was very tight,” said Enrique as quoted by Culture PSG, Tuesday (7/11/2023).

“They played a great game against each other, they have a great team, physically and technically. They managed to use their space to attack. “We lost control of the match several times, but we still had chances,” he added.

With this defeat, PSG was pushed out of first place in Group F of the 2023-2024 Champions League. They are one point behind Borussia Dortmund who have seven points, but only two points behind bottom-placed Newcastle United.

“There are still two matches left, we can advance,” concluded Enrique.
