Juventus won 2-0 against Dynamo Kiev in the Group G match in the Champions League at the Olimpiyskiy Stadium, Wednesday (21/10). Striker Alvaro Morata bought up the two winning goals.
Juventus failed to score in the first half despite firing 7 shots, compared to the hosts’ 3 attempts. The final settlement that is not optimal is like a problem for the Bianconeri when Cristiano Ronaldo was absent.
The megastar did not appear because he was undergoing isolation due to being infected with COVID-19.
The first opportunity via Federico Chiesa in the 13th minute was able to be countered by goalkeeper George Buschan, swept by a defender, and produced a corner. Then Giorgio Chiellini had a header that almost came in had it not missed.
Subsequently, Chiesa returned to stabbing the left side with a curling shot that went off the left side of the goal.
In half an hour of action, Dejan Kulusevski shot with a heel in front of the goal. The ball rolled weakly, but dangerous, able to be pushed out by Buschan who reacted brilliantly.
Aaron Ramsey also threatened with a direct shot that was right into the arms of the goalkeeper.
The match minus goals in the first half was closed by Kyiv’s chance through Viktor Tsygankov’s free kick which Wojciech Szczesny secured.
The two teams drew 0-0 in the first half which had minimal chances of the two teams. However, a different story happened in the second half.
The second half was not even 1 minute, Juventus immediately scored a 1-0 advantage through Alvaro Morata. Morata’s goal in the 46th minute was created by Chiesa’s acceleration on the left side.
Chiesa hands the ball to Aaron Ramsey, who then passes to Dejan Kulusevski. In a fairly open position Kulusevski fired a shot from outside the penalty box.
However, Kulusevski’s hard shot was pushed over by the goalkeeper Bushchan. It’s just that, the wild ball was still moving in front of the Kiev goal which was immediately struck by Morata into a goal.
In the middle of the second half, Kiev locked up the Juventus defense. The visitors defended deep enough, so that the hosts freely played the ball.
Kiev continues to try to find an equalizer in the second half. In the 78th minute Vitaly Buyalsky kicks in, but the ball hits the Juventus defense first and is easily caught by Wojciech Szczesny.
Instead of scoring goals, Kiev conceded again in the 84th minute, again by Alvaro Morata.
On the counterattack, Juan Cuadrado fired a cross into the Kiev penalty box. Without difficulty and also with minimal escort from the opposing defender, Morata easily headed the ball into the goal.
In the 90th minute + 3 Serhiy Sydorchuk tested Szczesny’s toughness with a long-range shot. But the goalkeeper from Poland was still able to ward off these opportunities. Juventus win 2-0 over Kiev.
