Chelsea is going crazy in the January 2023 transfer market, Marcus Thuram is the next game. The club nicknamed The Blues had previously hooked up Benoit Badiashile (AS Monaco), David Datro Fofana (Molde), and Andrey Santos (Vasco da Gama).
Chelsea’s attack line is in trouble. A storm of injuries hit them, not only in defence, but also in the attack sector. Reece James, Ben Chilwell, Edouard Mendy, N’golo Kante and Mason Mount were previously on the Stamford Bridge camp’s sick list.
In the last match against Manchester City in the 2022-2023 Premier League, Graham Potter’s team added to their long list of injured players, namely Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic. Previously, Armando Broja was also confirmed to be absent until the end of this season.
That way, Chelsea only has Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the spearhead and also Kai Havertz who is sometimes plotted as an attacker. For this reason, they are intensively trying to bring in more forward players in the January transfer market.
According to reports from Sky Sports Italia transfer specialist journalist, Fabrizio Romano, via his Twitter, @FabrizioRomano, on Sunday (8/1/2023), Chelsea is currently in the process of recruiting striker and also Monchengladbach wing, Marcus Thuram. Reportedly, further talks will be held in the next few days to discuss the conditions and the price tag.
The Blues’ opportunity to get Thuram is very wide open. The French national team striker is only under contract with his club until the summer of 2023, so he could be recruited cheaply this January.
Under these conditions, it seems that the giant team from London will soon secure the signature of the 25-year-old player. However, they had to move fast because there were also other European teams eyeing the son of the legendary French national team defender, Lilian Thuram.
Chelsea itself has just completed three transfers in January. They have signed AS Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile, young Molde striker David Datro Fofana and young Vasco da Gama midfielder Andrey Santos.
