Chelsea lose to Everton in the Premier League

Chelsea lost to host Everton 0-2 in the English Premier League 2018/2019 match at Goodison Park Stadium on Sunday (17/3). With that defeat, Chelsea, who should be able to coup Manchester United in fifth place in the English Premier League must be willing to throw away the opportunity.

The Toffees scored two goals in the second half presented by Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdson.

Chelsea can be said to play pressing since the beginning of the game. From the fast bait game the Blues – nicknamed Chelsea – were immediately able to several times endanger the Everton defense. Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who performed superbly at night, was the reason why Chelsea didn’t score.

Everton themselves are not without resistance. The home team actually had several chances to attack Chelsea throughout the first round match. But the strength of the Chelsea defense is still not able to be penetrated by Gylfi Sigurdsson and his friends.

Everton who played at home immediately kicked off to put pressure on the Blues at the beginning of the first half. However, Maurizio Sarri’s squad also served the hosts with an attacking game.

They almost even scored in the eighth minute. Eden Hazard’s shot from outside the penalty box still hit the crossbar of Marco Silva’s squad.

Chelsea also created a golden opportunity in the 24th minute. Ross Barkley’s kick was still able to be pushed over by Jordan Pickford.

Then in the 40 minutes, there were actually goals that were created. It was created by Chelsea who finally managed to break Everton’s goal. But the referee’s was not authorized the goal because before entering the ball the Chelsea player was in an offside position. That opportunity might be the only best throughout the first half. Chelsea had to be content to end the first half with a score of draw with Everton.

Entering the second half, the attacking action was demonstrated by the two teams. However, the Blues actually missed the beginning of this round.

They conceded by Everton midfielder Richarlison in the 49th minute. He was able to use the wild ball from Kepa Arizabalaga who tried to get rid of it. Richarlison immediately headed the ball and scored.

Chelsea, who tried to catch up, actually conceded again in the 72nd minute by Gylfi Sigurdsson. The goal started from the Sigurdsson penalty execution ball which Kepa could push away.

The ball bounced back at him, Sigurdsson immediately grabbed the ball and goals, the score 2-0 for Everton.

The match ended and Everton successfully beat Chelsea 2-0 in Week 31 of the English Premier League.
