Chelsea vs West Ham Result: Score 2-1

Chelsea went through a tough 90-minute duel to beat visiting team West Ham with a score of 2-1. The Blues fell behind first but managed to come back to grab three important points.

Monday, February 3 2025, Chelsea entertained West Ham at Stamford Bridge in the continuation of the 2024/2025 Premier League duel. An additional three points will boost Chelsea’s position up to the top four, this match is important.

Even so, Enzo Maresca’s troops had difficulty at the start of the match. West Ham were more aggressive in attacking in the first half and managed to take the lead first through Jarrod Bowen’s goal (42′).

Fortunately, The Blues were able to bounce back in the second half through goals from Pedro Neto (64′) and an own goal from Aaron Wan-Bissaka (74′) to turn the score around.

This victory boosted Chelsea up to the top four of the 2024/2025 Premier League standings, overtaking Manchester City.

West Ham took the lead in the first half thanks to Jarrod Bowen’s goal, which took advantage of a mistake in the back pass from center back Levi Colwill. Bowen, who has just recovered from a foot injury he has been suffering from since December 29, coolly finished the ball past goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen.

This goal was a big blow for Chelsea, who had played less convincingly in the first half. The Blues struggled to penetrate West Ham’s defense, while the visitors from East London appeared more organized and disciplined.

Enzo Maresca made significant changes in the second half by bringing on Pedro Neto and Marc Guiu. This move had a positive impact, especially through Neto’s contribution.

Marc Cucurella managed to keep the ball from Neto’s cross, which was then continued by Enzo Fernandez. Fernandez’s shot was blocked by Vladimir Coufal, but Neto was quick to pounce on the rebound and score the equalizer.

Chelsea played much better after equalizing. Ten minutes later, Cole Palmer’s corner took a deflection off Wan-Bissaka and went into the West Ham goal, giving the Blues a 2-1 lead.

This victory was very important for Chelsea, who now move up to fourth place with 43 points, two points above Manchester City and Newcastle. Meanwhile, West Ham remain trapped in 15th place with 27 points.

This English attacking midfielder was Chelsea’s game engine. Palmer made 4 touches in the opponent’s penalty box and released 7 accurate passes into the final third area.
