According to the admission of the Portuguese coach, Fernando Santos, the Selecao das Quinas squad carries out routine Covid tests every day and undergoes all health protocols that are implemented both while traveling and at lodging.
“Since Monday we have all been restricted here. Nobody can enter this place other than the players and staff,” explained Santos
Santos explained that after carrying out their usual activities, including practice and tests on Monday, the players entered their respective rooms.
On Tuesday morning the test was again carried out and Ronaldo’s test result came back positive.
“Everything has been tested. Unfortunately he is positive. This is the reality, and this is indeed happening. France has experienced it first after fighting Sweden when [Kylian] Mbappe was positive,” said Santos quoted from Record.
After being confirmed positive for Covid-19, Ronaldo will undergo isolation and will not appear when Portugal faces Sweden. Ronaldo will also be absent from defending Juventus.
