Liverpool reportedly met PSV’s asking price of £40 million, making Gakpo the club’s most expensive signing in their winter transfer window history.
Despite joining Liverpool, Gakpo hasn’t missed a beat. He has seamlessly integrated into Jurgen Klopp’s system, contributing with goals and assists.

Gakpo, in a recent interview with Sky Sports, revealed his desire to join United during the summer transfer window.
Despite initially stating his contentment with staying at Liverpool, Gakpo acknowledged United’s growing interest and his eventual hope for a move to Old Trafford.
“At the start of the window, United registered their interest but not very strongly,” Gakpo said.
“So I was waiting for a bit, and then the end was approaching and the signals became more positive,” he added.
