Lautaro Martinez scored Argentina’s two winning goals. The Inter Milan striker scored two goals against Peru in the 47th minute and 86th minute.
Lautaro has never missed scoring a goal for Argentina in the 2024 Copa America. He contributed one goal in Argentina’s 2-0 win over Canada in the first match, scored the single goal that decided the 1-0 win over Chile in the second match, and has now scored twice against Peru. .
Argentina finished as winners of Group A with a perfect nine points. In this group, Argentina also scored a total of five goals and conceded not once.
In the quarter-finals, Argentina will face the runners-up in Group B. Group B is the group occupied by Venezuela, Ecuador, Mexico and Jamaica.
The Canadian national team and the Chilean national team met at the Inter&Co Stadium on the final matchday of Group A of the 2024 Copa America, Sunday (30/6/2024). The Canada vs Chile match ended with a score of 0-0.
Canada also finished in second place with four points. Canada qualified for the quarter-finals along with Argentina. Meanwhile, Chile (2 points) and Peru (1 point) had to be eliminated.
