UFC president Dana White told he had secured the agreement of Conor McGregor to face the American boxer Floyd Mayweather on Wednesday and that it remained to convince the latter.
“McGeregor’s side is done,” White told to media. “I’m not saying the fighting will take place, but I have an agreement on one side and it’s time to work on Mayweather’s side. If we reach an agreement with Haymon and Mayweather, the fight will take place. So, I guess I don’t have to worry about the date any more.” White added.
“McGregor wants to fight,” White told media again. “McGregor wants to face Mayweather, he wants to fight twice this year, so we’ll just have to see how this thing plays out.” he added.
White also added that McGregor had to fight according to the rules of English boxing practiced by Mayweather and not according to the MMA. And now he is getting ready to create a history on McGregor and Wayeather superfight.
Both McGregor and Mayweather have teased for long time about making this duel with both wanting to be the A-side of deal. However, according to the rumor, the fight between McGregor and Mayweather was targeted for September 16, lost its date to the duel of Gennady Golovkin against Canelo Alvarez.
Irish champion has won 21 wins for three defeats. The 28-year-old fighter made a name for himself with noisy statements and his ultra-aggressive style. But McGregor hasn’t fought since he knocked own Eddie Alvarez to win the lightweight title last year.

On the other hand, Mayweather has raised more than $ 800 million on the rings and the American boxer is considered one of the best boxers in history, he who remained undefeated for his entire professional career thru 49 victories, 26 of which by KO. He retired in 2015 and announced that he would not go back to a ring under $ 100 million. A sum could bring him to fight against UFC fighter McGregor.
This fight is arousing much interest in the world of boxing and MMA. If this fight happened, McGregor and Mayweather could earn over $ 75 million according to the UFC president, Dana White.
