Manchester United will face Bournemouth in an eagerly anticipated Premier League fixture on Saturday night. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side need to carry over this focus to the next game.
United forward Daniel James believes all United’s players ready for the tough games and they need to be focused in every game and if it’s possible they need to win three competitions in one week.
“The squad’s been rotated a bit, but everyone’s been ready to play. Obviously there was that big lift in the Europa League to get the win, but to go and win in three competitions in one week is amazing.” James said.
“What we’ve done is great, but the big thing is obviously the Premier League on Saturday to go to Bournemouth. Can we get four out of four?” James added.
Marcus Rashford’s stunner helped United beat Chelsea 2-1 and reach the quarter-finals of the League Cup on Wednesday night. It was the Red Devils’ second win over the Blues this season, having beaten them 4-0 on the opening day of the Premier League.
When asked if he had seen a better strike from Rashford, James heaped praised on his team-mate after a sensational free-kick.
“I don’t think so, if you see the pictures of my face after the game and when it went in. It was a great free-kick, I think he’s practising on the training field every day and I know some of them haven’t gone his way this season and it shows the hard work behind the scenes.” James said.
“It was important, I think we all believe in him, the manager was never going to change penalty taker on last week. I think it was just all about going and getting the next one, can you score? And he did that today.” the Wales added.
United will be joined by Manchester City, Liverpool, Leicester City, Everton, Aston Villa, Oxford, and Colchester United in the quarter-finals of the League Cup. They will face League 2 side Colchester in December.
