Dean Smith officially coached Norwich City on Monday (11/15/2021) after being sacked by Aston Villa and replaced by Steven Gerard. Smith will handle the club nicknamed the Canaries with a contract duration of two and a half years.
Dean Smith will replace Daniel Farke who was sacked by Norwich City. The 50-year-old coach is expected to be able to bring his new club out of the 2021-2022 Premier League relegation zone.
Together with Aston Villa, Dean was able to become one of the great coaches because he was able to advance to the League Cup final in the 2019-2020 season. Unfortunately, they lost in the final against Manchester City.
Dean also admitted that in the past week he was experiencing difficulties. But he admitted that he was happy to be defending Norwich City in the Premier League for the rest of the season.
“It’s been seven days like a whirlwind, but I’m very happy to be back and working for Norwich City in the Premier League,” said Dean Smith.
“Norwich City is a big club, with a very big fanbase who fully understands what it means to be a part of the club and its community.”
Dean admits that he has a good story with Norwich. He was determined to give the best results for the Canaries in the Premier League this season.
“I grew up in an era when Norwich competed in Europe. I remember those days well and every time I visit Carrow Road and Norwich you can really feel the connection between the fans, staff and players.
“Together, we all have to make Carrow Road a very difficult place for the visitors,” said Dean Smith.
