Del Piero Boasts Juventus Will Reach The 2021-2022 Champions League Final

Italian football legend Alessandro Del Piero feels the smell of his former team’s success, Juventus in the Champions League this season. Alessandro Del Piero reasoned, the squad owned by the Bianconeri -the nickname Juventus- is currently similar to the 2016-17 season.

As is known, the Bianconeri were able to reach the 2016-2017 Champions League final, without losing in the group phase, although they ultimately bowed to Real Madrid 1-4 in the decisive match.

Alessandro Del Piero saw the composition of the players who led Juventus to the top party, and has a character similar to the current condition of Juventus.

The 47-year-old said that the resemblance was marked by the arrival of Dusan Vlahovic to Juventus Stadium.

This completes the three-line attack package for Juventus which is filled by Alvaro Morata, Dusan Vlahovic, and Paolo Dybala.

“I have seen the similarities between this team and the squad that reached the Champions League final in 2017,” Del Piero said.

“They have (Paulo) Dybala, a centre-forward and (Alvaro) Morata who can play wide on the left wing like (Mario) Mandzukic. The Spaniard never gives up, he runs a lot and helps the team.”

Alessandro Del Piero continued, the squad was more complete with competent defenders and midfielders. He also gave advice to Massimiliano Allegri (Juventus Coach) to take advantage of this momentum well.

Del Piero when he was still active as a Juventus player “They are solid defensively and the midfielders have a different touch. If Allegri can play with all three strikers up front then he has to do it.” This season, Juventus again managed to penetrate the last 16 of the 2021-2022 Champions League.

Paulo Dybala et al will face Villareal to win a ticket to the quarterfinals. The match against Villarreal itself will take place over two legs. Juventus will travel to Villareal headquarters on Wednesday, February 23, 2022.

Following that, the second leg on Thursday, March 17, 2022 will be held at Juventus Stadium.
