Devin Booker Out for a Month with Groin Injury

The Phoenix Suns have announced that Devin Booker has been diagnosed with a left groin strain injury and is therefore out for the next four weeks. After that, he will be reviewed then, so the time away from club could be even longer.

Booker had an ankle and hamstring injury as well this season, but this groin issue is going to actually cost him significant time.

“Further evaluation has confirmed that Devin Booker has sustained a left groin strain. He will be re-evaluated in four weeks.” Sun said in a statement.

Initially, the forward was missed to play in six of the team’s last nine games due to groin and thigh pain injury. He tried to return to court during the Christmas round, but only played four minutes during the loss to the Denver Nuggets.

Booker’s injury comes at a bad time for the Suns, who are already dealing with other absences. They was missing Cameron Johnson, Landry Shamet, and Cameron Payne in the previous match.

Jae Crowder, moreover, is away from the squad because he is going to be traded. Still, the team beat the Memphis Grizzlies away from home.

Without their top scorer, the Arizona team will certainly face a drop in performance for the season. The fifth-placed West has won 20 of 35 games in the campaign so far.

However, without the 26-year-old star, they only won two out of six games. The franchise still scores nearly four more points per 100 possessions when he’s on the court.

Booker is the reference of the Suns and, with that, walked to dispute a vacancy in the ideal quintet of the season. But, depending on how long the embezzlement takes place, this possibility is compromised.

In 29 games played, he averages 27.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists. The scoring mark, by the way, is the highest of his career.
