Dewa United Apollo managed to add a new trophy collection by winning the DGWIB Free Fire S24 championship which was held on December 9-19. Starting the competition with ups and downs in performance, Anak Dewa was still able to qualify for the grand final after securing 6th place in the group stage. Dewa United Apollo only showed their best performance when the competition entered the grand final round.
Dewa United Apollo Coach, Aditia ‘Acun’ Maulana, fielded his four best rosters, namely North, Kikyyy, Zaxx, and Adrian. These four rosters immediately stepped on the gas since the first day of the grand final by pocketing 2x booyah and leading the standings.
North and his friends further asserted their dominance when entering the second day of the grand final. From the 5 matches played, Dewa United Apollo was able to pocket 4x booyah so that they distanced the points from their strong rivals.
Dewa United Apollo support player, Kikyyy, was named the ‘Predator’ for his great contribution in eliminating opponents on the battlefield. The former FFML S7 champion became the player with the most eliminations during the grand final round with a total of 38 eliminations.
With this brilliant performance, Dewa United Apollo recorded a total of 208 points during the grand final round, far ahead of the runner-up team who only managed to achieve 128 points.
Coach Acun gave high appreciation to all players for their hard work and champion mentality shown during the tournament. “We can finally prove that with teamwork and focus, we can achieve the best. This is the result of intensive training and evaluation that we did after the group stage,” said Acun.
He also said that this victory was not only about proof, but also the positive development of the team to face the next season. The current team performance is expected to continue to be improved so that Dewa United Apollo can win the official FFWS ID competition and return to compete in FFWS SEA.
