New South Wales-headquartered Donaco International Limited (ASX:DNA) announced on Monday that it has signed a three-year-deal with the owner of Poker King Club (PKC), Kings Consulting Limited, to host international poker tournaments at the Star Vegas Resort & Club in Poipet, Cambodia.
Under the terms of the deal, which is effective July 1, 2017, a minimum of three international poker tournaments will be staged by PKC at the Star Vegas. The tournaments will be staged under a range of potential brands, to include the Thailand legs of the World Poker Tour and the Asian Poker Tour. Joint marketing campaigns will be conducted by the parties, which will include marketing to PKC’s vast network of players globally and across Asia. And tournament costs and revenues will be shared, according to the press release.
The deal is the first step in Donaco’s strategy of increasing the utilization Star Vegas’ available space as well as increasing player visitation from Thailand and across Asia. Founded in 2009, Poker King Club, which is now known as “The Home of the World’s Biggest Game,” provides tournaments and cash game services at various levels for all types of players. PKC runs cash games 24 hours a day, seven days a week and it is known for hosting the world’s biggest cash game.
Currently, PKC operates three poker rooms under its name; Poker King Club Macau, located in The Venetian Macau’s Phoenix Hall; Poker King Club Korea at Maison Glad Hotel Jeju; and Poker King Club Manila at the Solaire Resort and Casino Manila. PKC boasts an impressive working portfolio, which includes well-known tournament brands such as World Poker Tour (WPT), Asian Poker Tour (APT), and Boyaa Poker Tour (BPT). According to the press release, as of this year, PKC has organized upwards of 40 tournaments in various branches around Asia. It is also responsible for organizing all Triton Poker events, including the Triton Super High Roller Series, which combines high-stakes poker and features some of the most influential poker names in the world.
The operator of leisure and entertainment businesses across the Asia Pacific region, Donaco International Limited’s largest business is the Star Vegas Resort & Club. The casino and hotel complex which borders Thailand is the largest of the casino hotel located in Poipet, with more than 1,500 gaming machines, and 100-plus gaming tables, and 385 hotel rooms.
Donaco’s flagship business, the Aristo International Hotel, is a successful boutique casino located in northern Vietnam, situated on the border with Yunnan Province, China. The property, which was established in 2002, has recently expanded into a new five-star resort complex with 400 hotel rooms. Donaco owns a majority 95 percent interest in the business, which is a joint venture with the Government of Vietnam.
