Danil “donk” Kryshkovets was named the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 MVP following Spirit’s 2-1 victory over FaZe in the grand finals. The 17-year-old phenom became the youngest Major champion and MVP in history at 17 years and 324 days old, breaking the record previously held by Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye at the ELEAGUE Major 2017 (18 years and 277 days).
This is donk’s first Major MVP, adding to his collection of five other individual awards — four from 2024, his first full year of play and officially his rookie year — including one from IEM Katowice.
Donk achieved this feat with a stellar performance, where he also became the highest-rated Major MVP (Elimination Stage and Playoffs) with a 1.49 rating, beating out Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev’s 1.47 rating at PGL Stockholm.
The young star only had one negative-rated map among Spirit’s 14 maps in Shanghai, a 7-13 loss to MOUZ on Nuke. His highlight, however, came in the grand finals decider against FaZe, where 30 kills in regulation time earned him a 1.98 rating.
Donk was a standout performer in all of his team’s wins, but especially in leading Spirit to victory with a 1.67 rating in the grand finals.
Looking at all 14 maps, he ended the tournament leading in rating (1.49), KDD (+97), DPR (101.4), KPR (0.99), total kills (289; tied with Robin “ropz” Kool), headshots (177), headshots per round (0.60), and impact rating (1.75).
He also had the highest damage difference per round (+25.9; 2nd), 1+ kill rounds (56.7%; 2nd), total assists (69; 5th), KAST (78.2%; 5th), and total opening kills (45; 3rd, tied with Guy “NertZ” Iluz).
To cap off his spectacular performance, donk broke the record for most aces at a Major, with four — beating Egor “flamie” Vasilyev’s three aces from IEM Katowice 2019 — which also matched s1mple’s record of four aces at the Big Event from IEM Cologne 2021.
