Donny Van De Beek is officially loaned out by Manchester United to Everton. Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, views this loan positively because he thinks Van De Beek will develop more at Everton.
Van De Beek actually has quite a capable ability as a midfielder. Unfortunately, the former Ajax Amsterdam player has very minimal playing minutes with Manchester United.
With Everton, Van De Beek is expected to show his best ability and get enough playing time. Rio Ferdinand also feels that the 24-year-old player has good ability to control the ball.
“He knows how to score goals, he knows how to play one and two touches in progressive football based on possession,” said Rio Ferdinand.
In addition, currently Everton have also made Frank Lampard their new coach to replace Rafael Benitez who had just been sacked. Ferdinand also believes Van De Beek has the right style of play under Lampard.
“Frank Lampard, in his short time as manager, has tried to get his team to play football in a way that someone like Donny van de Beek could possibly do.
Even so, Ferdinand feels Van De Beek can only show his abilities if he gets enough playing time. Van De Beek is also expected to be placed in his best position to be able to perform optimally.
“But, I think the important thing for Donny van de Beek is to get time to play. But just as important is where he will be played,” he concluded.
