The 2024 PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) tournament has ended with drama and high tension. From the Group Stage to the Grand Finals, this tournament presented fierce competition between the world’s best PUBG MOBILE teams. Dplus Kia from South Korea managed to emerge as the new champion of PMGC 2024 after defeating strong teams such as Alpha7 Esports, DRX, Falcons Force, and Natus Vincere.
The Grand Finals which took place in London, England, on December 6-8, 2024, witnessed their greatness. Although their initial performance was less than optimal, Dplus Kia managed to bounce back and overtake RC Bra Esports from Turkey by only 1 point on the last map, taking home the world champion trophy and a prize of USD 457,250 (around Rp7.2 billion).
Voin Donkey ID, the Indonesian representative, also showed impressive performance. Although they did not win WWCD, they consistently penetrated the late game and collected high elimination points. At the end of the tournament, Voin Donkey ID finished in 5th place with 112 points, taking home a prize of USD 117,750 (around Rp1.8 billion). This achievement is very proud considering they are the only Southeast Asian representatives and debutants in the PMGC Grand Finals.
The 2024 PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) tournament features a total prize pool of USD 3 million, with USD 1.58 million up for grabs in the League and USD 1.42 million in the Grand Finals.
2025 will be an interesting year for PUBG MOBILE esports. PMGC 2025 will be held in Thailand, and the closest international tournament is the 2025 PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) in Uzbekistan in April 2025. This is an opportunity for all teams, including Voin Donkey ID, to continue to shine in the international arena.
