DRX is the champions of VCT Pacific Kickoff 2025

Good news came from the South Korean Valorant team, DRX, where they managed to become the champion of VCT Pacific Kickoff 2025, Sunday (9/2).

DRX’s victory over T1 in a fierce match proved that the new generation of DRX has succeeded in surpassing its predecessors who have moved teams. This is a great success for Kim “MaKo” Myeong-Kwan as the remaining veteran.

Although DRX won VCT Pacific Kickoff 2025, T1 managed to put up their best fight as proof that the “Dream Team Valorant Korea” consists of the best Valorant players such as Meteor, Stax, Buzz, Izu, Sylvan and Carpe. With DRX winning VCT Pacific Kickoff 2025, it marks the return of this team after a long drought of championship titles since 2022.

The VCT Pacific Kickoff 2025 grand final match between DRX and T1 took place on Sunday, (9/2) with a best of 5 (BO5) series format. Both played in Abyss, Lotus, Fracture, Bind and Split. As a team from the upper bracket, DRX has an advantage in banning.

In the first game, Abyss, DRX dominated the game, making T1 struggle. A score of 13-3 brought Mako and friends to a 1-0 lead over T1. Entering the second game, Lotus T1 turned the tables on DRX. They were leading 7-1, but DRX closed the half with a score of 5-7. T1 managed to add to their points in the second half, putting DRX under pressure. In the end, T1 managed to equalize with a 13-6 win on Lotus, taking DRX to game 3.

Game 3, Fracture DRX started their steps smoothly. T1 was made to struggle, the first half closed with a score of 9-3 for DRX. Although behind, T1 tried to catch up in the second half. However, DRX’s impressive performance could not be stopped. In the 21st round, Buzz was left against 3 players from DRX, finally BeyN closed the victory 13-9.

Moving on to game 4, Bind, both teams competed intensely. The first half closed with a score of 7-5 for DRX’s advantage. DRX extended their advantage in the second half, however, T1 did not give up. Failing to close the match point, T1 forced DRX to play extension. Successfully forcing the opponent into an extra round, T1 finally won 14-12 heading into game 5.

Game 5, Split was again opened with DRX’s advantage. After fighting back, the first half was closed with a score of 7-5 for DRX’s victory. T1 managed to reply in the second half, catching up. However, DRX managed to lead 10-8 trying to widen the gap. DRX’s mental gap was successfully exploited by T1, equalizing the score at 11-11. However, in the end, DRX secured their victory after 2 kills from Flashback made T1 fall apart. The remaining Stax was successfully eliminated by Hyunmin and closed the match with a score of 13-11 for DRX’s victory.
