“Now it is time to pursue a different challenge. Arsenal will always remain in my heart. I wish the club and its supporters only good things and all the very best.” he added.
Edu has in the past down played the speculation of leaving Arsenal for Brazil, a country he once played for before joining the English giants.
He has been loyal to the club, and invariably his departure also causes one to wonder of what the next strategy is.
Arsenal will be on the search for a new sporting director who will enable Arteta to challenge for the Premier League title.
However, Edu has plans of becoming the CEO at Nothingham Forest and he can get a position with the Greek side Olympiacos and the Rio Ave of Portugal under the group of Marinakis.
