Former legendary Manchester United goalkeeper, Edwin van der Sar managed to pass through a critical period after being sentenced to suffer a brain haemorrhage. Van der Sar hopes to return home in the near future.
Van der Sar suffered a brain haemorrhage while on vacation in Croatia last Friday (7/7/2023). The former Dutch National Team goalkeeper immediately received treatment at Split Hospital, Croatia.
After undergoing a critical period due to his illness, Van der Sar’s condition slowly began to improve. His wife, Annemarie van der Sar, has also confirmed that her husband’s condition has improved.
Now, Van der Sar can communicate through his personal social media account on Twitter (@vdsar1970). Through the application with the blue bird logo, Van der Sar expressed his gratitude to everyone who had prayed for his recovery.
“First of all, we want to thank everyone for all the kind and supportive messages,” Van der Sar quoted from his personal Twitter account (@vdsar1970), Wednesday (19/7/2023).
Van der Sar also confirmed that he was no longer being treated in the intensive care unit. The 52-year-old man hopes to return home next week so he can continue his recovery at home.
“I am happy to share that I am no longer in the intensive care unit. However, I am still in the hospital,” said Van der Sar.
