England vs Slovakia Euro Cup 2024 results: Score 2-1

The England national team managed to achieve a dramatic victory in the last 16 of Euro 2024. Against the Slovakia national team, England managed to win in comeback with a score of 2-1.

Slovakia managed to take the lead thanks to Ivan Schranz’s goal in the 25th minute. However, England was able to reverse the position to 2-1 thanks to Jude Bellingham’s acrobatic goal and Harry Kane’s goal.

Thanks to this victory, The Three Lions ensured that they would qualify for the quarter-finals of Euro 2024. They will challenge Switzerland in the last eight.

The match which was held at the AufSchalke Arena was fierce. The England national team appeared to be pressing and controlling the ball from the start of the match.

Only five minutes into the game, Slovakia almost scored a goal thanks to the collaboration of Hancko and Haraslin, where the defender fired a low shot which was parried by Pickford.

In the 11th minute, Slovakia again made England confused after Haraslin managed to get into the penalty box and then fired an imperfect shot which Trippier was able to block in front of the goal.

The England national team, which dominated possession of the ball, had difficulty creating dangerous opportunities. They created some good chances but didn’t finish well.

In the 25th minute, England finally conceded the goal. Sokoli received the ball from Strelec’s header then ran near the England penalty box, then he gave a through pass to Ivan Schranz who was able to convert it into a goal. Slovakia leads 1-0 in this match.

Behind one goal, the England National Team began to increase the intensity of their attacks. They continued to bombard the Slovakia goal but their chances did not result in goals until the first half ended.

Trailing 1-0, the England National Team immediately appeared to hit the ground running from the start of the second half. Only five minutes into the match, the England National Team managed to score a goal.

Starting from Kieran Trippier’s movement on the left side, the defender gave the ball to Foden who then tap-in into the Slovakia goal. But unfortunately the referee disallowed the goal because Foden was already in an offside position.

One minute later, Slovakia’s goal was almost broken when Harry Kane’s shot was aimed at the Slovakia goal, but the ball was blocked by Vavro.

Two minutes later, it was the turn of England’s goal to almost concede. Starting from a miscoordination between Walker and Stones when making a short pass, Strelec managed to grab the ball and then he immediately fired a shot into England’s empty goal, where Pickford was out of position. Luckily for England, the ball went just wide of their goal.

In the 77th minute, the England national team threatened again through Harry Kane’s header using a free kick, but unfortunately the ball was still sideways from the Slovakia goal. Three minutes later, Declan Rice fired a hard shot from outside the penalty box, but the ball only hit the Slovakia goal post.

After carrying out a number of experiments, the England national team was finally able to equalize in injury time. Starting from a corner kick, Marc Guehi passed the ball to Jude Bellingham, where the midfielder fired an acrobatic kick which resulted in a goal. The score 1-1 closed the second half so the match had to continue into extra time.

Entering the first round of extra time, England immediately stepped on the gas. Only a few minutes into the game, England managed to score a goal.

Starting from Cole Palmer’s free kick from the right side, Dubravka punched the ball. The ball that fell outside the penalty box was kicked by Eberechi Eze then Ivan Toney continued with a header, and Harry Kane who was in the penalty box successfully headed the ball into a goal. England went back to winning 2-1.

At the end of the first extra time, Slovakia almost equalized the score at 2-2 if Pekarik’s shot had not bounced in front of the England goal.

In the second half of extra time, Slovenia appeared more pressing. They dominated possession of the ball and bombarded the English goal.

However, thanks to England’s tight defense, the 2-1 position remained and England won this match.
