Manchester United won a landslide 3-0 victory over Watford in Week 27 of the English Premier League at Old Trafford Stadium on Sunday (2/23).
Manchester United had the opportunity to excel in the 10th minute through a left foot shot from Mason Greenwood. Unfortunately, Greenwood kicks from outside the penalty box can still be defeated by goalkeeper Ben Foster.
Not wanting to lose in creating chances, left back Luke Shaw played a role in pounding Watford’s defense. However, Shaw’s left foot kick from outside the penalty box was saved by Foster.
Watford did not remain silent and several times gave threats through Abdoulaye Doucoure. In the 30th minute Abdoulaye Doucoure’s left foot shot is pushed over by De Gea.
Awaited goal by Manchester United came in the 42nd minute through a penalty kick from Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese midfielder successfully fooled goalkeeper Foster with his shot to the left, while Foster first moved to the right.
The penalty was awarded after the referee Fernandes Foster dropped in the forbidden box after receiving a pass from midfield.
Fernandes almost added excellence for Manchester United after getting the ball from Anthony Martial. Only, Fernandes cheat from inside the penalty box is still wide on the left side of Foster’s goal.
Watford equalized in the 52nd minute through a cheat by Troy Deeney who took advantage of the turmoil in front of De Gea’s goal. However, the referee annulled the goal because after being reviewed by VAR, Dawson first handball before Deeney’s goal occurred.
Martial’s sensational goal changed the score to 2-0 for Manchester United’s lead in the 58th minute. The goal was created from Martial’s own rebound which Foster blocked.
Martial ball can be taken back by Martial. The French player calmly controlled the ball. When he had the chance to execute, Martial gouged the ball into the goal past goalkeeper Foster.
Manchester United captain Harry Maguire failed to take advantage of opportunities to increase the advantage in the 68th minute. Fernandes hull kick from the left side can not be headed well by Maguire. The former Leicester City defender’s header sideways on the left side of the Watford goal.
Manchester United winning 3-0 over Watford in the 75th minute after Mason Greenwood rattled Foster’s goal. After getting a pass from Fernandes, Greenwood fired hard left foot kick into the top right corner of the goal that could not be anticipated by Foster.
Substitute Odion Ighalo almost gave a 4-0 advantage for Manchester United .Only, Ighalo’s left foot kick in the 85th minute hit the Watford defender and only produced a corner kick. Without a goal until the long whistle blew, Manchester United won 3-0 over Watford.
