Erik Ten Hag vows to do whatever it takes to end Manchester United’s thirst for a title

Erik Ten Hag vowed to do whatever it takes to end Manchester United’s thirst for a title. The Red Devils – nicknamed Manchester United – will visit the Nottingham Forest headquarters in the 2022-2023 English League Cup semifinal match, Thursday 26 January 2023.

Manchester United have not won a title for a long time since winning the 2016-2017 Europa League trophy. They have not won the Premier League for a long time, which was last felt during the Sir Alex Ferguson era in 2013.

The last two finals, in the 2018 FA Cup and 2021 Europa League, have ended in defeat. Finally, the club with 20 Premier League titles had to be patient with fasting for nearly six years.

Visiting Nottingham Forest, Manchester United will play in the semifinals of the first leg of the 2022-2023 English League Cup. The match will be held at the City Ground, Nottinghamshire, England on Thursday 26 January 2023.

Ahead of the match, Ten Hag discussed Manchester United’s title drought. The Dutch passport coach emphasized that The Red Devils will do everything to go to the final party and win the title.

“It’s the best feeling you can have, winning a trophy,” said Ten Hag quoted daei Metro, Wednesday (25/1/2023).

“I’ve been lucky a lot in my career to win some trophies and that’s great, especially for the fans. It’s very good and I think the fans here have some experience, especially the older ones.”

“But now is the period (when) Manchester United are not winning trophies and it’s been too long. We are aware of that fact and we have to do everything to bring trophies,” added Ten Hag.

Even so, Ten Hag said his team must first focus on getting past Nottingham Forest’s hurdle. Of course, this match will be very important for Manchester United.

“It’s about winning trophies, so we have a good chance, but you have to take it game by game, so (we have to) focus on the first leg,” said Ten Hag.

“Don’t think further, don’t think further ahead because it will distract, so the goal tomorrow is to win that game,” he said.
