Borussia Dortmund’s Norwegian striker, Erling Braut Haaland, has now been linked with a new adventure in the Premier League.
Hearing the news, Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard immediately welcomed Haaland’s plan.
It is known that Haaland and Odegaard are good friends of Haaland in the Norwegian national team.
Haaland himself is known to be the player most targeted by top teams in the 2022 summer transfer market.
The former RB Salzburg striker became a goal machine for Dortmund and also the Norwegian national team.
Real Madrid and Manchester City are the most favorite clubs to secure the services of the young striker.
However, if Haaland moves closer to the Premier League, Odegaard hopes that his good friend will join Arsenal.
According to Odegaard, Haaland’s level of play would be much improved if he joined Arsenal.
The 23-year-old believes Haaland will have a brilliant career in North London.
“We’ll see what he does, I don’t know, but if he comes to England he should join us, of course,” Odegaard said.
“He’s a beast, he’s strong, he’s fast, and I think he has everything, so I think he can play in every league, in every country,” he added.
However, Odegaard is still trying to be realistic. He admitted that all decisions are in the hands of Haaland.
Odegaard admitted he was reluctant to ask Haaland’s future when he trained with the Norwegian national team. According to him, this is a private matter.
“He is a funny guy, a good friend of mine and a great player, I don’t know what he will do but he is a great guy, to be honest we haven’t talked about him too much (Haaland’s future),” he said.
“I know a lot of people have asked him that, and suggested what he should do, but I don’t want to do that, so let’s wait and see,” concluded Odegaard.
Meanwhile, Manchester City are reportedly in pole position in the hunt for Erling Haaland. The other top clubs have withdrawn, it is very likely that Haaland will land at the Etihad Stadium next season.
Previously, Man City was still competing with several big European clubs such as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. However, it was recently reported that Madrid resigned because of Haaland’s salary demands which were too big, so did Bayern.
