Romain Grosjean and Dane Kevin Magnussen are reportedly have extended their contracts with F1 team Haas for the 2020 season. The pair will head into their fourth campaign together with the American team.

Speaking about his continued association with Haas, Grosjean said, “I always said that my desire was to stay with Haas F1 Team and continue to build on what the team has accomplished,”

“To have been there from the beginning and to have seen the work of Gene Haas (team owner) and Gunther Steiner (team principal) to make the team successful, I am naturally very happy to remain member.

“Fifth place in the championship last season, for the team’s third year of competition, was very special. We had some difficulties this season but we will take advantage of last year’s and this year’s experience to progress in 2020. I look forward to working with Kevin (Magnussen) and the whole team to continue the adventure together.” Grosjean added.

The announcement means that there are five places left on the grid in 2020. In their announcement, Haas also formally confirmed the presence of Magnussen, who had signed a contract until the end of 2020 last season. The American team believes that the experience of their duo will be essential to progress after a difficult season.

“The need for experience is one of the pillars of Haas F1 Team and with Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen on the team in 2020, we will still have a duo that provides a solid platform to continue our growth,” Steiner said in a statement.

“Their understanding of how the team works and our knowledge of what they can do at the wheel provides useful continuity and a solid foundation for continuing to build the team.

“The 2019 season has been a difficult one, with the VF-19’s performance fluctuations, but our ability to tap into the combination of experiences will help us learn, grow and move forward in 2020.” Steiner added.
