Fabio Capello’s Opinion on Three Italian Coaches in Champions League

Legendary coach, Fabio Capello, praised the success of three Italian tacticians in the 2022-2023 Champions League. Three coaches from Italy, Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid), Stefano Pioli (AC Milan), and Simone Inzaghi (Inter Milan), managed to bring their respective teams to the semifinals of the 2022-2023 Champions League.

Carlo Ancelotti managed to lead Real Madrid to the semifinals of the Champions League after winning over Chelsea with an aggregate score of 4-0. The victory made Ancelotti’s Madrid the opportunity to defend the Champions League title. Later, Carlo Ancelotti will accompany Real Madrid in the match against Manchester City in the semifinals of the Champions League.

Ancelotti’s brilliant footsteps were followed by two other Italian coaches, Stefano Pioli and Simone Inzaghi. Pioli first made Milan secure a place in the semifinals of the Champions League. At that time, Stefano Pioli’s concoction of strategy succeeded in getting Milan to get rid of fellow Italian representatives, Napoli, with an aggregate score of 2-1.

Thanks to the victory, Stefano Pioli’s Milan will play a match against Inter Milan in the 2022-2023 Champions League semifinals. Simone Inzaghi’s Inter penetrated the top four of the Champions League after winning over Benfica via an aggregate score of 5-3. Thus, the Italian coach dominated in the semifinals of the Champions League after Pioli, Inzaghi and Ancelotti managed to lead their team to the top four.

One coach in the semifinals of the Champions League came from Spain. He is Josep ‘Pep’ Guardiola who coached the English club, Man City. No doubt, Fabio Capello positively welcomed the success of three Italian coaches on the Champions League stage this season. Capello revealed that the Italian coaches had succeeded in creating a strong mentality for the teams under his care.

“Our coach (from Italy) managed to embody a European mentality for their team,” Fabio Capello told SkySports “They beat Barcelona, Tottenham and Benfica. It means that Mediterranean football is developing,” he added.
