Monster Energy rider Fabio Quartararo got off to a good start in Jerez Circuit. The Frenchman has expected to cross another milestone on Saturday after finishesd second in qualifying on this Friday.
Double wins in Jerez in 2020, two victories in the last two races contested in 2021 in Losail and Portimao: Quartararo arrived at the Spanish Grand Prix 2021 as boss of the MotoGP category, and natural favorite of the event. He dominated in FP1 at Jerez Circuit.
Everything is going well in this side of the Monster Energy team box, and Quartararo is already one of the favorites in the race for pole. To get it, he planned to modify an element of his M1.
“The feeling is really good, we’re just going to change something because I feel we have a bit of room for improvement. It’s something clear and I feel that it can be better, that’s why I really want to try it.” Quartararo said.
“My strategy is still the same, we’re just going to try something different on the bike because I feel it can help us. And there is no need to worry, he insists. Things are pretty clear, the team is studying the data, but it’s something that can help us.” Quartararo added.
Quartararo is all the more delighted with his performance as it was carried out in conditions which were not optimal for him. Saturday should see the MotoGP peloton raise their voice.
“The driving conditions weren’t great, because last year’s FP1 time was the same as today’s FP2. I feel we have to take a step forward, and so does the circuit.” Quartararo said.
“With a little more grip and a little warmer conditions, our bike will run a little better. That’s why I can’t wait to see you tomorrow.” he added.
