European transfer market expert, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that negotiations between Chelsea and Manchester City regarding the purchase of Raheem Sterling are proceeding smoothly. Now it is almost certain that Sterling will soon join the team nicknamed The Blues.
Through his Twitter account, @FabrizioRomano, Sunday (10/7/2022), Man City is said to have approved Sterling’s move to Chelsea. Later, Sterling will stay at Stamford Bridge until 2027.
Furthermore, the Italian journalist said that the transfer fee for Sterling to Chelsea was 45 million pounds with an additional 10 million pounds. All requirements have been completed a few days ago.
Since the transfer market this season opened, Sterling has been reported to be moving to the club from London. The reason, Chelsea does need a reliable striker to be able to compete in the top standings.
Of course the arrival of Sterling is good news for Chelsea. The presence of the 27-year-old player could make Chelsea even more dangerous both in the Premier League and the Champions League.
Moreover, Chelsea also recently lost their striker, Romelu Lukaku, who chose to return to Inter Milan on loan. In addition, Timo Werner is also rumoured to be sold by Chelsea in the 2022 summer transfer market.
Last season, Chelsea’s attack line was quite blunt, so it was difficult for them to compete for the Premier League title with Liverpool and Man City. It is not impossible for Chelsea to be competitive again with the arrival of Sterling this time.
Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel, is said to have held direct talks with the England international. Chelsea is also believed to be inaugurating Sterling as its newest player in the near future. Of course, signing Sterling could be the right move for Chelsea. Because their new players obviously don’t need to adapt to English football and just need time to fit into Chelsea’s game.
