Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman admitted that he would rely on Lionel Messi in the El Clasico match in the 30th week of the Spanish League 2020-2021. He also hopes to bring out all of Messi’s best abilities against Real Madrid.
The match will take place at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, Sunday (11/4/2021) in the morning WIB. The competition between the two teams will be highly anticipated, because this is not only a matter of fighting against gangs, but also about competing for the Spanish League title this season.
Therefore, Koeman hopes that Barcelona can show their best performance. However, not only about Messi, the former Dutch national team coach also hopes that the other players can also show their best against Madrid.
“We need Messi in his best performance (to win), but we also need the best from Barcelona,” said Koeman, quoting from Marca, Saturday (10/4/2021).
“We have to do everything very well, with our attacks, passes, our movements,” added the Dutch passport coach.
Barcelona also has another advantage because some of Madrid’s core players had to miss this match. Call it Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane, where the two players play a vital role in the defense area of Madrid.
Koeman did not deny that it would benefit Barcelona. However, he cannot underestimate this because in the previous match against Liverpool, Madrid were still dangerous without the two players.
“For them (Madrid), they (Ramos and Varane) are important people who are absent,” continued Koeman.
“We also have players out, but yes, they are two important center-backs and very good. One of them is their captain who gives a lot of personality, “he continued.
“However, in the game against Liverpool, they showed that they have other players who can play in that position,” he concluded.
