Facing Real Madrid will be a chance for Manchester City to prove their wroth, as the Citizens are still doubt that they are not one of the best in Champions League yet.
City had just passed through the semifinal of the competition for the first time in the history of the club. In order for them to go through the semi final and creating another history, the Citizens had to face a tough opponent this time.
City captain Vincent Kompany admitted that they are still not in the league to be consider a favorite in the competition of the Champions League, not like Madrid, Bayern Munich, or current reigning champion Barcelona whom everybody always expect them to perform or even lift up the crown in every year. However, he believes that City is already in the right track, consider there is a well recorded fact that they are improving in the last few matches of the competition.
Facing Madrid in the Etihad Stadium for the first leg of the semifinal will be a good chance for them to gauge them-self and to prove their worth.
“This is the proof of our effort. We are improving every year and that is one of the thing that I am proud of,” said the Belgian national player.
“I think, we are not in the line yet to compare our-self with those teams, but we are in the right track and everyone in the club is happy about this progression. Tonight will be a big chance for us to gauge our-self by facing a big club with a rich history,” continued the 30 years old defender.
In the last four chances of the competition, City is only able to reach until the quarter final of the competition. In their first two Champions League trial they even eliminated in the group phase, and reach the quarter final in the other two chances.
