Bayern Munich’s new player, Harry Kane, was disappointed that he failed to taste the German League title after Bayer Leverkusen successfully won the Bundesliga trophy in the 2023-2024 season. Kane still hasn’t given up on chasing his first trophy with Bayern, therefore he hopes that the Bavarians – Bayern’s nickname – can win the 2023-2024 Champions League.
Currently, Bayern has just confirmed that they will qualify for the semifinals of the 2023-2024 Champions League. This certainty was achieved after Bayern Munich narrowly won 1-0 over Arsenal in the second leg of the quarter-finals which took place at the Allianz Arena Stadium, Thursday 18 April 2024. The Bavarians’ winning goal was scored by Joshua Kimmich in the 63rd minute.
This victory also ensures that Bayern Munich gets a semifinal ticket. The reason is, the team led by Thomas Tuchel eliminated Arsenal with an aggregate score of 3-2.
Kane is satisfied that he won’t play in bringing Bayern to get rid of Arsenal. He could already guess that The Bavarians were able to achieve victory because they played in front of their own public. According to him, this is an important result, considering that they are going through difficult times.
“What a win. This has been a difficult season for us. “We sometimes have to fight and finish,” said Kane, reported by Metro, Saturday (20/4/2024).
“We know we can make a difference with our fans at home. It was a tough game, a close game. “It was a great goal from Josh (Kimmich),” he continued.
Bayern Munich, which has been able to defend its Bundesliga title for 11 years, had to lose its trophy this season after being won by Bayer Leverkusen. Because of this, Kane has the ambition to bring The Bavarians out as champions of the 2023-2024 Champions League.
“Reaching the semifinals is a great achievement for us and we can enjoy it. “The hope here is to try to win the Champions League,” said Kane.
“We won the league (Bundesliga) for 11 years in a row so maybe there was a bit of tempo lost. That shouldn’t be possible. “Now we have to enjoy the Champions League and prepare for Saturday (Bundesliga match),” he continued.
However, Bayern Munich must overcome difficult obstacles if they want to win the Champions League trophy this season. They will face Real Madrid in the semifinals. In the first leg, The Bavarians will act as hosts by hosting their opponents at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday (30/4).
