The puzzle about who the players Real Madrid will buy this season is starting to meet. Olympique Lyon defender Ferland Mendy is reported to be Los Blancos’ first purchase this summer.
The 2018/2019 season can be said to be one of Real Madrid’s worst seasons in recent years. They ended the season as ranked third in the La Liga final standings, where they also failed to win a championship trophy.
With that sad condition, Florentino Perez has given the mandate to Zinedine Zidane to overhaul the El Real squad. Perez wants Zidane to bring in quality players to make El Real come back mighty.
According to Marca’s report, Real Madrid’s first recruit seemed to be approaching Santiago Bernebeu soon. He is an Olympique Lyon defender, Ferland Mendy.
Ferland Mendy, who plays as left back, was brought in by Zidane as a long-term substitute for Marcelo.
The Real Madrid veteran defender is indeed experiencing a decline in performance. As a result he did not look up to defend Los Blancos, so the Real Madrid goalkeeper conceded a lot this season.
Marcelo himself was also rumored to want to move to Juventus in the summer, so that the figure of Mendy was brought in anticipation of Marcelo’s move.
According to the Marca report, the negotiation stage between Real Madrid and Lyon has reached the final stage.
So far the two parties still have some differences of opinion, especially regarding the issue of dowry transfers. But the report claimed that both parties were getting closer to reaching an agreement.
If everything goes well, Mendy’s transfer to the Bernabeu will be announced next week, after this season’s Champions League final.
