12-time world champion Floyd Mayweather verbally responded WBC and WBA middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, who strongly criticised the retired boxer in an interview with TMZ.
Canelo, who was dominated by Mayweather over twelve rounds in 2013 fight, is keen on the 41-year-old man giving him the opportunity to get his rematch.
According to him, the fact that Mayweather wants to take part in duels against UFC fighters like McGregor and Khabib is only detrimental to the sport.
“He wants to continue hurting boxing by making fights that don’t make sense, and not giving boxing the credibility it deserves.” Canelo said.
“If he wants to return, I ask him to look my way to give a great fight to the fans. Let’s do the second fight. It’s very important. We have something pending there, so let’s make the second fight.” Canelo added.
Mayweather on the other hand, said fighting Canelo was the easiest duel of his career. And he called Canelo is a “cheater” by referring to the fact that the Mexican boxer tested positive for Clenbuterol earlier this year. Canelo had been suspended for a short six-month period by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC).
And the “Money” also ridiculed the fact that Canelo has signed an 11-fight deal that will bring him $ 365 million with streamimg DAZN service:
“It did not matter if Canelo had his steak with PEDs or not his night, this was by far the easiest fight of my career,” Mayweather said on social media.
“Conor McQuitter was a much better fighter than Canelo’s cheating ass, and I beat the breaks off him too! It takes me 36 minutes or less to make over $ 300 million plus. It literally takes me 1 night and 1 fight to make what you might make in 5 years and 11 fights! So really, who’s still winning? You do the math.” he added.

Mayweather is considering the idea of returning to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov (27-0), and then giving Manny Pacquiao a rematch.
Khabib launched a challenge at former American boxer last weekend after meeting Mayweather CEO Leonard Ellerbe at a boxing event in Russia. The Russian champion successfully defended his title earlier this month at UFC 229, defeating Conor McGregor by knocked out.
McGregor had delivered a boxing bout with Mayweather in a super-event in August 2017. In the fight, the MMA fighter managed to stretch the fight until the 10th round.
