Former NBA Player Explains Why He Thinks Novak Djokovic Is the Greatest Player

Novak Djokovic is the current world number 1 and former NBA player Nate Wolters believes Djokovic is the greatest tennis player in the world.

“I know (Novak) Djokovic comes to some games. I know he follows the team, which is pretty cool. He’s probably the greatest tennis player of all time.” Wolters said.

“Hopefully, he can come to some games this year and obviously, I’m a big fan of his and I watch tennis quite a bit, especially the Majors. He’s a fun guy to watch.” Wloters added.

Wolters signed a multi-year contract with Wilmaukee Bucks in July 31, 2013. In the next two years he became a free agent.

When asked why don’t he play tennis alongside Djokovic, Wolters said he doesn’t much care for tennis. He would much rather have been a professional basketball player.

“I’m really not that good at all in tennis. I haven’t played tennis for a while either. So yeah, I don’t want to face him at all. Wolters said.

“I was always a lot better at basketball than tennis, so it was kind of just something to do on the side, and something you can do the rest of your life,” Wolters said.

“So I don’t play a lot of tennis now just because I’m focused on basketball, but I think when I’m retired from basketball, I will play a lot of tennis.” he added.

Djokovic has not played since losing to Daniil Medvedev in the U.S. Open final in early September when he had a chance to win a record 21st Grand Slam title.

The Serbian icon has faced  144 opponents ranked outside the top 50 at grand slam events in his career and lost to only five of them.
