Former France Footballer, Mikael Silvestre, hopes Didier Deschamps’s squad is shaded by luck to win the 2018 World Cup. Silvestre is quite optimistic about France’s chances at the 2018 World Cup as it currently had a very very strong squad.
According to Silvestre, at a World Cup-class tournament, the luck of a team is also a deciding factor.
“I think this is one of the best-choice teams, but in the World Cup you also need a bit of luck,” said Silvestre.
“At the European Cup final, luck is more favourable to Christiano Ronaldo and Portugal, hopefully this time luck will overshadow France,” Silvestre said.
Meanwhile, former team-mate Silvestre in the French team, Louis Saha argues that Les Bleus is one of the candidates for World Cup 2018 champions.
“I’m pretty sure France is one of the favorite teams of champions,” he said.
At the 2016 European Cup, France lost to Portugal 0-1 in extra time. This defeat is very painful for France, because it acted as the host. If you look at the current squad, you could say French national team is stronger than during the 2016 European Cup.
Coach Didier Deschamps still calls up old names like Paul Pogba, Antoine Griezmann, Hugo Lloris, Ngolo Kante and Olivier Giroud.
The senior players will collaborate with young talents such as, Samuel Umtiti, Ousmane Dembele, Nabil Fekir, Thomas Lemar and Kylian Mbappe to be able had achievement in Russia later.
