Francesco Bagnaia is still in third place in the 2025 MotoGP standings, but is far behind Marc Marquez who is at the top.
The 2025 MotoGP has just passed the sixth series. Bagnaia is now in third place with 120 points, 51 points behind Marquez who is in first place. Meanwhile, second place is occupied by Alex Marquez with 149 points.
There are still 16 races left, but the first six unconvincing series make Bagnaia’s chances of becoming champion this season quite slim. Moreover, Marquez, who is now his teammate at Ducati, has shown much better performance.
From six series, Bagnaia has only managed to win one title, once runner-up, and twice third place. In the last race at the 2025 French MotoGP, Bagnaia fell and only finished 16th.
The only title was won by Bagnaia in the United States MotoGP race when Marquez fell.
“My team has to explain to me, they have to give me something more. I know they tried everything to help me, but after six races we didn’t find a solution,” said Bagnaia.
Bagnaia even admitted that he was no longer sensitive to the Ducati Desmosedici GP 25 motorbike that he was riding this season.
“Want to make the fastest time or four seconds slower, it’s all the same, there’s no feedback from the bike. It’s really hard. Just like in Thailand,” said Bagnaia, remembering the first series of this season in the Land of the White Elephant.
Bagnaia was predicted to compete closely with Marquez this season because both riders use the same bike, but it turned out that up to the first six races Bagnaia could not keep up with Marquez who could race fast and quite consistently.
Next, Bagnaia will ride the Desmosedici bike in the British MotoGP race at the Silverstone Circuit on May 23-25.
