KTM Factory Racing has confirmed the arrival of Francesco Guidotti through an official press release. The Italian who came over from Pramac Racing will succeed Mike Leitner as team manager of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team.
“It is a pleasure to have Francesco with us again and someone who knows our culture and way of racing at KTM. We wanted to refresh MotoGP’s management structure and we think his input and ideas will give us new impetus for our sixth season on the grid.” KTM Motosports Director Beirer said.
“With the likes of Francesco, Fabiano Sterlacchini, Herve Poncharal, Jens Hainbach and Aki Ajo, we know we have the best leadership to take us further and achieve more MotoGP milestones for the company.” Beirer added.
After a foray into the FIM Superbike World Championship, Guidotti spent the past ten years with Pramac Racing as team manager.
The 49-year-old Italian will return to KTM where he will take on the role of team manager of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, the MotoGP team that will start next season with Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira.
“I was team manager at KTM from 2006-2009 and then gained valuable experience in another series before returning to MotoGP. Now I can come full circle.” Guidotti said.
“KTM has always been very ambitious and hungry with their racing programs and we can see it is no different in MotoGP; it is unbelievable what they have achieved in such a short time and there is still a lot we can do. I am very happy to be back and part of this big push for more success.” he added.
KTM ended their fifth year in MotoGP competition with 7th position in the eighteenth and final round of the world championship in Valencia and with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Brad Binder securing 6th place in the standings.
