Frank Warren has recently announced his intention to organise an event on the south coast of England.
This announcement comes in light of the impressive form displayed by two rising boxing talents, Ryan Garner and Royston Barney-Smith.
Warren has expressed his delight in signing Royston Barney-Smith, a teenage amateur superstar.
Barney-Smith, a two-time European championship gold medalist, will turn professional with Queensberry Promotions.
Barney-Smith, who hails from Poole but was raised in Southampton, has had a remarkable stint in the amateur code of boxing.
With 50 fights under his belt, he has secured an impressive 45 wins. He has represented England in four international championships, showcasing his talent and potential.
Barney-Smith will have the privilege of working with top trainer Wayne Batten, who is based in Southampton.
Batten, known for his work with other talented fighters like Garner and Mark Chamberlain, will guide Barney-Smith’s transition into the professional ranks.
The training will take place at Batten’s new gym premises near Southampton FC’s St Mary’s home ground.
“If we can do it at St Mary’s, then it is a no-brainer for me. It’s all about the venue and the size of the venue, so we will have to investigate it, but let’s see.” Warren said.
Garner, another promising young fighter, has been training alongside Barney-Smith and has been instrumental in his development.
His impressive performances have caught the attention of boxing enthusiasts, and his involvement in the upcoming event adds to the excitement surrounding the south coast event.
As the event on the south coast approaches, boxing fans eagerly anticipate witnessing the performances of these rising stars.
The combination of Warren’s expertise, the talent of Garner and Barney-Smith, and the support of the boxing community sets the stage for an exciting and memorable event.
